Donald Trump will not campaign for Roy Moore in Alabama senate race, says White House

as declared in Donald Trump will not campaign for the controversial Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, multiple outlets have cited White House officials saying. Mr Moore has denied any wrongdoing, saying in a statement that "I have never engaged in sexual misconduct" and saying allegations against him are politically motivated. But Mr Trump has not done so, and this weekend he weighed in on the race with a series of tweets warning against electing Mr Moore's Democratic opponent — effectively giving his backing to the embattled Republican. He has noted that Mr Moore has been consistent in denying misconduct. Mr Moore prevailed in the primary over a more centrist Republican, Sen Luther Strange, whom Mr Trump had endorsed.

President Donald Trump has decided not to campaign for Judge Roy Moore, the controversial Republican Senate candidate who has been accused of molesting teenage girls. Mr Moore, 70, is set to contest a special election in Alabama on December 12 as the official Republican candidate, and Mr Trump had indicated he was considering sharing a stage with him despite the allegations. The president's reversal came as the issue of sexual harassment took centre stage in Washington. Al Franken, a high profile Democrat senator, apologised publicly over allegations that he groped women while having his photograph take with them. Everyone counted on me to be a champion for women and I'm going to work to regain their trust.

He could have easily mixed up his 'Indians'."Noah also noted the what-were-they-thinking-ness of staging this ceremony in front of the White House portrait of Andrew "Trail of Tears" Jackson. But this White House event does not top the list of Worst Thing Trump Has Said Recently, Noah insisted. "I feel like Trump does not know other people can lie, that it's a superpower only he has," Noah snarked.

Donald Trump chooses legislative agenda over Republican repulsion of Roy Moore

Donald Trump said on Sunday that electing a Democrat as Alabama's next senator "would be a disaster," making clear the success of his legislative agenda outweighs widespread GOP repulsion at the prospect of seating Republican Roy Moore, who is dogged by allegations of sexual misconduct. "In my opinion, and in the opinion of many Republicans and conservatives in the Senate, it is time for us to turn the page because it is not about partisan politics. It's not about electing Republicans versus Democrats," Mr Scott said on Sunday on ABC's "This Week." "It's about the character of our country," he said. Mr Trump on Sunday once again plunged himself into the race, declaring in a pair of tweets - without mentioning Moore by name - that electing Moore's Democratic opponent, Doug Jones, would "be a disaster."
